THE AXE MAN
Sara and Noman were driving through a wooded empty section of highway. Lightning flashed, thunder roared and the sky went dark in the torrential downpour.
"We'd better stop," said Sara.
Noman nodded his head in agreement. He stepped on the brake and suddenly the car started to slide on the slick pavement. They plunged off the road and slid to a halt at the bottom of an incline.
Pale and shaking, Noman quickly turned to see if Sara was alright. When she nodded, he calmed down and looked through the rain soaked windows.
"I'm going to see how bad it is," he said to her with a narrow voice.
He went out, and she saw his blurry figure from inside the car. A moment later, he jumped in besider her.
"The car's not badly damaged, but we're wheel-deep in mud," he said, "so I'm going to look out for help." "There'll be no quick rescue here," he warned her.
Sara swallowed nervously. He told her to lock the door and turn off the headlights.
Although she knew well what he meant when he said her to lock the door. The place where they had trapped belonged to a ghost, who had become famous by the name of "The Axe Man".
This was the place where this man had once taken an axe and hacked his wife to death in jealousy over an alleged affair. Supposedly, the axe-wielding spirit of the husband continued to haunt this section of the road.
Outside the car, Sara heard a shriek. A loud thumbed, and a strange gurgling noise. Frightened, she shrank down in her seat and sat there for a little while, until she heard another sound: Bump. Bump. Bump. This was the soft sound, like something being blown by the wind.
Suddenly, the car was illuminated by a bright light. An official voice told her to get out of the car immediately. Noman must have found a police officer. She unlocked the door and went outside. As her eyes adjusted to the bright light, she saw it.
Hanging by the feet next to the tree was the dead-body of Noman. His bloody throat had been cut so deeply that he was nearly decapitated. The wind swung his corpse back and forth so that it produced a soft sound: Bump. Bump. Bump.

She screamed and ran frantically toward the light. Later on, he figured that the light was not coming from a flashlight. Standing there was the glowing figure of a tall man, holding a large, black, and definitely a real axe in his hands.
She backed off and jumped into the car and locked the door.
"Playing around when my back was turned," the ghost whispered, "You've been very naughty!"
The last thing which she saw was the glint of axe blade in the eerie, incandescent light.
