(Continuation of Far From Eden Part 2) A story about a young man in the service, that has everyday challenges of life, job (as a Army Infantry Man) and emotions thrust upon him.

Based on a true story

What I thought would be a ordinary mission turned out to be far from ordinary. From the time we exited the main gate of the base to the entire time we were driving, I kept spinning and jumping around in the turret looking for a threat, and keeping cars and people away from the vehicle. I never stood still, not for one second. Every once in a while I would yell for Spence to toss me up a bottle of water from the ice chest. I emptied a few liters in a short time and still continued on dancing around About still 30 minutes away from the FOB where one of our guys had to do an investigation which I'm not allowed to discuss, a old beat up Iraqi Toyota pulled out in front of our convoy and drove slower than Mrs. Daisy, seeming to not know we were there behind him...trying to pass. The team leader told the driver to give him a "tap" to get his attention. When he didn't speed up, I opened fire. When cars are this close to a convoy, we threat it as if they were a suicide bomber. They would ram a car full of explosions into convoys. So every time a car came to close or came at us from an intersection, I would spin around the gun, hold up my hand and blow the whistle. But when I was shredding up this guys back bumper and back window, the only reaction he was showing was ducking down. He still didn't speed up. Then I saw another beat up car heading our way, and it seemed like it was in a hurry. I could hear the men down below talking and the leader telling everyone to prepare themselves. So I did what I was ordered to, and braced myself.
