I find myself face to face,
With all my worst fears.
Loneliness and insecurities,
That fill up the scariest of years.
Do I leap out and trust so blindly?
And expect someone to catch my fall?
Do I let out what’s inside me?
And hope I make it through it all?
You can’t see who I am
You don’t know who you are
You paint in black and white
You’ll never know the tears I’ve cried
That’s because you are blind
Assuming you think that you know me,
Could be the worst mistake of all time.
Because I don’t even know myself,
So I’ll smile and pretend I am fine.
Let my humor be a shield from hurt,
And a way to make it through the day.
A shelter for all my daily pain,
And convince myself that I’ll be okay.
My soul is longing for more,
My hurt is my only friend ,
My mistakes I’ve known before,
My death will be the end.
Because you were blind.
