Poolside contemplation

Here by the poolside
Head resting in water
Contemplating the sweet release of death
As life’s journeys erode
Into blissful nothingness

The reflection stares at me
And laughs satanically
The cliffs behind flourish
Just like my memories
Or what I have left

Fading from ambitious
I’m walking into perseverance
Watching the sun kiss the earth
It reminds me of beauty
And how it easily fades from life

Colors I beg to shine
For they have forsaken me
But here by the poolside
Head resting in water

In remembrance of His Grace
