Alone she sits in the shadows of the room,
stained teardrops rest on her blouse
as saddened eyes gaze into the emptiness.
The poor maiden recalls to many times
when happiness and merriment
was once in her life, but now vanished,
like the shadows when the dawn arises.
Yet that was the past.
A time which she could not go back to.
And all she had to look forward to,
was another day of facing the horrid truth.
The event which turned her warm and caring heart,
into something which was cold and full of misery.
Life to her has no meaning;
its sense of promise had gone forever in the abyss.
Darkness closes in on the maiden
whose sorrow is heavy.
Wanting to scream to the angels up above,
but her voice no longer there.
No more tears, for her eyes had shed its last.
Misery because of the life that is gone.
The one which had grown in her womb
and taken away so quickly.
Death's cold hand had grasped its innocence.
And now no dreams does she hold
or plan for her future, she ponders.
The child the angels took away was not only a life
but a part of her heart,
which now is a void that shall never be filled.
