amidst the darkness of the dimly lit room

the sound of the rhythmic beats of two hearts

dominate the silence

as tears of joy

in harmony with the intermittent sobs

drip the sheets

i stare at the mirror

a reflection of the beaming pride

on my face

another victory

additional conquest

sum up the total number

of the times spent together

in a place

where there is cramped space

i could hardly breathe

as tears soak my eyes

i smile

and stare

not knowing where to go

from  there
