This is the result of SeeSawMae's challenge that was presented to me. I responded as quickly as I could so I hope it's ok for it.

Red and Black

There are two parts to me,

One which I must destroy.

I have a darker side that chases me,

I hope to lead it into my ploy.

I am a good soul,

I will do my best,

To save you from my dark side,

Who’s pursuit gives me no rest.

But in order for me to take it down,

There’s a path I do not like.

For I must follow into my darkness,

For me to be able to bring it to the light.

At first I thought there was a way,

For my black to be set afire.

But I see the side I wished to save,

Faded away and turned into mire.

Once I had been given a small lick,

Of the power that it promised me,

I knew I couldn’t resist the chance,

To someone more respected be.

When it is brought upon me,

And there comes a decision I must make.

Trust not the liar telling you this,

But you believe the road of righteous, is not the one I take.
