The Long Decline was written in the stars
By those of a fearful, negative bent
Once set in motion, it when down hill fast,
At light speed, one day here, the next it went
Many years? Nope, just days it seems,
Unraveling, dismantling, crumbling down
The walls of our fortress turned to rotting beams
Breached not with weapons, armies or force,
No, by a mindset

Mindsets are very powerful things. Excellent poetry, Mike.
