I made a comment to someone to the effect that the bombing of those oil tankers near Iran as maybe being Trump's Gulf Of Tonkin, an alleged North Vietnamese torpedo attack on the USS Maddox, a U. S ship which was used used as a justification for widening America's involvement in Vietnam, despite actual no or questionable proof that the North Vietnamese were responsible. The Johnson administration wanted any excuse for going to war, and after studying what happened, it's eerily similar, both times, the U. S. announced definitively that, in the first instance, North Vietnam, and now Iran are guilty, and must be dealt with.

Now, as of this writing, I am not aware of what The Trump administration will do, just that the two incidence seem very familiar. After listening to The Bush administration rush us headlong into The Iraq War, with lies, an ill advised action that we're still paying for, and given the steady stream of provably-false lies from this administration, why should we believe what they're telling us, that it's necessary to go to yet-another war, a war that could easily spin out of control?
