Dueling keyboards

Double pumping keyboard is ready to fire,

Unloading viscous words, a killer for hire.

Attack from a distance, victim both faceless

And a non-moving target at a button’s depress.

Launch your attack from the safety of miles,

Found guilty without bother of a trial.

Guilty of thoughts different from yours,

Unfeeling anger fired from behind closed doors.

Surrounded by keyboard warriors who think the same,

Whose literary weapons fire words of disdain.

They rain down on guilty and innocent alike.

Scatter their troops with your child-like strike.

Launched in the direction of perceived slights,

Your words are vindictive and ready to fight.

Launch your attack from the safety of away,

It’s a light speed battlefield, it’s a dark new day.

Your literary bullets certainly are very powerful ones and can shoot very well. Enjoy your poems like that.

I've never been able to understand what makes someone launch in to an attack of words, just because they don't agree with the opinion expressed...Nice poem, Mike.
