Not another '16

e come to the conclusion I am wrong about who would be the Democrat with the best chance to beat Trump and end this nightmare we're living through. I was against the idea of Joe Biden running, thinking weneed new, younger blood, but the extreme liberals, in my view, while I agree with most of the things they stand for, I don't feel the country's ready for such radical changes. After the chaos and turmoil of the last two years, we could use a calm, competent president who doesn't rabidly push a far-left agenda that will scare the right. He''ll peel of some votes in the middle of the country from those who are tired of Trump, but are against any far-left proposals. He's seen as a friend to blue-collar voters, and isn't viewed as as big a threat to their way of life like others who appeal to mostly the coasts, California, New York, etc.

My only worry is that, like happened in '16, the far-left part of the Democratic base won't accept anyone who don't go extreme enough, thereby splitting the party at the very time we HAVE to have unity. In my mind, the presidential election is ours to lose, and the only way we'll lose is forming a circular firing squad. Part of me wants to say, screw it, and screw them, let's go with a militant far-lefty, but the realistic side of my brain says that is the way to disaster. I believe Hillary Clinton got shafted, hence America, by the media and the Russians smear campaign, bu no matter, water under the bridge, we can't afford for the same division to happen again.

If a radical far-left candidate does happen to win, I'll get behind them completely, and I'd hope if the candidate of their choosing doesn't get the nomination, they'll see that total unity is the ONLY way we'll stop this Trump horror show.

The two-party system seems to be a problem, not just in the US, but other countries that have it as well. People have very little to choose from when there are only two major parties.

Yeah, it blows, but it's what we have, so I support the Democratic agenda. People who vote for an Independent as a protest are voting for the idiot who's in there now, and are one of the reasons we're stuck with him
