Cold wind blows through the sentinel trees,

plays a haunting theme song to go with unease

An ill-defined sadness has taken hold of your soul,

we're swimming with sharks in this goldfish bowl

Disappeared in a heartbeat, how fast it unraveled,

such a different feeling from the road we once traveled

From high road to low, from respect to disdain,

we had everything to lose and nothing to gain

How does one see the truth with eyes closed?

You can't reach the thinking man if you're overexposed

Talking a good game makes nothing true,

perpetual winter's head for me and you
