Just a song I wrote a while back and has the unusual quality, that is that I still quite like it now.

Yesterday’s frosty haze

is now a summer flame

sunshine it’s been a while

all i can remember is rain

clouded thoughts like the sky

fogging up the window pane

Who’s says we need a reason

to drink champagne

an darling it’s warm now

and it’s been awhile since you came

and all i want you to do is come back home again

and darling hold still now

and brace for the pain

when  it’s all over we’ll capture the warmth in a frame

So hold my hand and spread your wings

and i promise you that soon we’ll live like kings

if we learn to fly we can see everything

just gives the words so we can sing

Darling it’s warm now

but i’m still cold

The flames are rising but i still see snow

Darling be here now

coz i want you ti know

These hands are and always will be yours to hold

and darling be free now

the grass is well  overgrown

You now even the youngest of children grow old

Darling be you now

‘cos you’ve come into your own

just remember that hearts are worth more than gold

and be free like the ripple from a cast off stone
