Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to recall real news

used to air on news channels; we've more than paid our dues

I'm asking for help, 'cause it's memory's fading into the mist;

Now I'm projectiling my Corn Flakes, and I'm pissed

For three years now, it's been The Dump Circus taking the place

of everything, hard hitting news has gone away, my face

is subjected to scenes of the ridiculous, the pathetic, and stupidity,

twenty four hours a day, eight day a week, as the Beatles said. Free

me, put me out of my misery; Cronkite, Murrow and ilk would be shaking

their heads at what passes for 'news'; a reality show in the making

Why focus on things that matter; why go to college to get a degree,

when any dick off the street can report, hell, my drunk Uncle Murray

could do what they do, with a bit more slurring, and then mercifully pass out,

while the same can't be said for the talking heads on cable T. V; they shout

about truly-meaningless shit, scream about the inane, and revel in the tabloid

I'm telling you too young to remember real news, I'm a little sad, and a lot annoyed!

I would love to hear Murrow's thoughts on the world today - politics, the economy, big business, Trump, international relations. All of it! I bet Trump would try and label him as a communist, just like McCarthy.
