157 Channels and Nothing's On!

Verse:
It's time to update the Springsteen song,
by adding 100 to the absolute void of what's on.
Inflation, or deflation depending on how you look at it,
doesn't matter at all, we've now got even more shit,
Pre-Chorus:
just a click away--more channels to choose from,
but less sustenance, and somehow, now it's all dumb!
Verse:
Cable T.V. has branched out like an unintelligent tree,
bringing even more pure trash viewing to you and me.
Now it just seems like a mindless, empty-space void,
and by watching it, brain cells are being destroyed.
Pre-Chorus:
Remember a time in the not-so-distant past, when
they aired something decent every now and then?
Chorus:
157 Channels and Nothing's On.
Thinking for yourself, or at all, is gone.
Complex problems boiled down to idiot level.
In the sensational and controversial, they now revel!
Verse:
They conveniently forget that their only job's to inform.
Now there's just empty nothing--it's an electronic shit storm.
So, I figured it's time to update what Bruce said,
Soon be 300 channels, maybe before I finish, instead!
Repeat 2nd Pre-Chorus:
Repeat Chorus:
End

Yep! There's trash, trash and yet more trash. Seems like the more channels there are the less programmes are watchable.
