Just having one of those days; thank goodness I don't have them very often!

Fight the Night

When the sun goes down, the thinking begins

Common sense is the loser, paranoia wins

Fears built up until they become a monster,

With a life of their own; set free to destroy; per

Self-destructive thoughts; my own worst enemy

It’s a monster that just won’t leave me be

In shadows my thoughts lurk, ready to pounce

When I’m at my weakest; not an ounce

Of rational thinking, not a glimmer of hope

It’s sometimes more than I can cope

With; I know what’s yet to come; I fight the night

The dark steals the vision from my sight
