Life Reduced To a Keypad

He sits around all day, staring at the screen

An electronic lifeline or zip, and nothing in between

This is it, the sum of his life

He’s got no car, no other hobbies, and no wife

He’s met some wonderful people, don’t get him wrong;

But the nights are short, and the days are long

He takes that back, the nights are long too,

But for being long, they pass in a blur for him and you

He’s grateful to have this place

But it’s electronic threads, an invisible face
