Nero fiddles, while Rome burns.
Our media has bought the circus.
The clown car of today's politics,
driven by jokes in suit and tie,
is looking for headlines, good or bad.
And we, like lambs to the slaughter,
blindly follow along, never questioning,
never wondering, never thinking.
Nero fiddles, while Rome burns.
Everything is wrong with the media,
yet we hobble along, needing a crutch,
but the crutch they offer is broken.
Just a rabble of lemmings, headed for a fall,
We blindly follow the others, blissfully unaware
we're being taken for a ride by a clown car.
