Spinning My Wheels
Sitting here staring at this blank computer screen
Trying to think of something to write, maybe you know what I mean?
Some days the well of ideas flows, others’ not so much
Some days are easy, and some seem like such
a hard slog; this is one of the latter
My brain doesn’t seem to work; what the hell’s the matter?
I try to think, but I’m just spinning my wheels
Now I know how the soothsayer feels,
when he can’t see any visions, it’s not a pleasant feeling
Only it’s not that kind of vision I’m after
I usually see with my imagination, but I sit here, and stare at the rafters,
trying in desperation to come up with any old thought,
but I’ve got nothing; a good idea day, it is not
I start and stop; discarding everything I write
You’d think I’d learn not to have this fight
But learning’s not for me I guess, still I’ll struggle on
I thought I just had an idea, but now it’s long gone
