Sizzling summer sun peeks over distant horizon,
Refracting radiant rainbows through glistening morning dew,
A new dawn, a new day,
A new cast of characters,
New rules in play.
However,
Something sinister afoot in their eyes,
Once peaceful lovers burn dinosaurs at the stake,
Seeing gory carnage,
Love Child cries,
The love that was preached seems now somehow fake,
Peaceful takeover turned hostile.
Old war-hogs plead,
\"Forgive us,
Please don't kill us,
We'll leave,
This very eve.\"
Peace crusader says \"No,\"
\"Too dangerous to be left alive.\"
He lights the fire,
Hate cycle breeds in blazing pyre,
The old way is the new way?
