Globs of red inside the tank

They floated around until they sank.

The bubbles glide until they burst

I wonder which one will pop first.

The red is vibrant and is an awesome sight

This glowing tank is a great night light!

It shines and keeps your eyes in a stare

Until you can’t help but stop and glare.

In the room the shadows dance

In the red light that puts me in a trance.

The lava lamp is burning hot

And so is the place that was its spot.

I don’t want to unplug the gleaming light

But at least I’m looking forward to tonight.

When the day wears down and the time is here

To light the lamp that makes me peer

As the bubbles churn and soar around

The lava lifts from one great mound.

I can already see the lamp start to glow

As I watch the red blobs bounce high and low!
