I used to know a brother and sister, I never knew their names. They were see-through, white and grey. On the nights I couldn’t sleep, they’d sit on the end of my bed, and tell me stories about ghosts, goblins and magical worlds. And when I got tired and fell asleep, they’d watch over me and keep the nightmares away.

Every morning, when I woke up, I’d run to my mum and tell her the stories they’d told me. But all she would say was “what a wonderful imagination you have darling!” I’d walk back to my room and think “could it really be just my imagination?” One night, when I couldn’t sleep, I sat up in bed and waited for them to appear. I waited for hours and hours, but they never came. That morning my mum asked me about the brother and sister, and I said to her “maybe they were just my imagination.”

Even now that I’m older, on the nights I can’t sleep. I still think of the ghostly brother and sister, that used to sit at the end of my bed and tell me stories about ghosts, goblins and magical worlds. And I believe that, the see-through brother and sister, are still very real, and still exist, somewhere, deep inside my heart.
