I once knew a girl, I can’t remember her name. She was a strange little girl. She’d sit on a bench in the park and just stare at everything that passed. Everywhere she went all she ever did was stare. She’d stare all day, from dawn until dusk. Some said that she even stared while she slept.

After a year of staring, her eyes were red. Her parents were worried and took her to the hospital. There, the doctor told the little girl “If you don’t stop staring, your eyes will shrivel and fall out!” The girl refused to close her eyes, and a few weeks later she was rushed to hospital. Like the doctor had predicted, her eyes had shrivelled and fallen out. The girl lost her sight. There was nothing more the medics could do, so they popped in two glass eyes and sent her home.

A couple of weeks later, when the girl had recovered, the family packed their bags and left the town. Nobody knows where they went or know what they did. But what we do know is that that was the last we heard of that strange staring girl.
