Chasing ghosts through the woods
Away from what is good
Away from what is understood
To abstract thoughts with no livlihood

None of my childhood was bad
Nor memories of it sad
But all the spirits remain
And remind me of it a tad

I always loved adventure
I was an open-hearted vulture
Snagging every shinning moment
That I would fly over

They tell me I was mellow
as the change from orange to yellow
And they would always ask me,
"What happened to that fellow?"

The truth is I don't know
I never noticed it go
But the spirit I have lost
Is why I'm here chasing ghosts.
