This poem is about my father and the struggles he went through living in a third world country. He moved here when he was 13 and this explains him.

A young boy climbs the tree- to find a better world. Living in a place where poverty is life. The sahdows of death surround him and his family. Being scared to go outside- he remembers. War is everywhere. The vile screams shout at him. Frighten him. The new life he seeks is only so far away. But yet he is practically there. Decisions to leave will soon follow through. And now he's here. Life is hard, but not as bad. School. That's a different story. He made mistakes- ones that he regrets. In the end things always happen for a reason. A grown man comes home to his wife and kids. He's happy. He's finally home.
