The roars

and bellows

of the furnace

give life.

-------------------

In the dark,

now light,

in the cold,

now warmth.

-------------------

The war drum

of power and

a stampede

beneath.

-------------------

The elixir of

life, distilled

from the dead,

fueling the living.

-------------------

Like Vulcan's

hammer the great

piston falls

with a clatter.

-------------------

Seldom has man

created so terrible

and great a

creature as this.

-------------------

And the great

cogs sync,

like lovers,

long separated.

-------------------

The sweet

reunion does naught

but increase the

roar.

-------------------

Behold,

below,

the wheels

turn anew!
