The sea breeze

hits my tongue

with a salty pleasure.

It spikes my senses

leaving me

light on my toes.

The sound of

palm trees

blowing in the wind

sends chills up my spine.

One by one

each bone of my

vertebrae rises.

My toes contract,

the sand melts into my skin,

and with acceptance,

it absorbs.

I feel like a sea sponge,

empty and hollow,

but full and heavy.

I can float.

I can sink.

But I can breathe,

and live immortally

in paradise.
