her first steps were your yet only smaller

on a slightly different path,

her height the same but slightly taller

which you couldn't seem to grasp

the colour of the eyes and hair were practically the same

the only way to tell apart was the difference of the name

several years later and life has took its course

changing things that can't be helped  and adapting with full force

sitting back reflecting on the day her mother was born

she writes down some words that are as innocent as dawn

she smiles to herself and seals the card with a loving kiss

in years to come she knows too well it's moments like these she'll miss

but she will never forget all that you taught her

'happy birthday dear mother,

love from your daughter'
