I’m missing you so much when you’re away

I love you so dearly, I wish you’d stay

I see you once a month

Leaving is like a blow to my chest

But I keep my thoughts crushed

Mom, sometimes you irritate me

But there’s no one I’d rather have as a mom

That would just feel wrong

You showed me so much, yet there’s so little I see

I know you love me

You try to act like nothing ever bothers

But I can see the glint in your hazel eyes

You wish we never have to whisper that painful goodbyes

I know you so well

And your face always makes my heart swell

I don’t blame you

I’m sure I’d do things the same way you do

You’re holding your heart in that vice grip

Not even pain can rip

Love is painful. That’ true

You go through so much

And I have to stand by and watch

It breaks my heart

And I feel we’re slipping apart

Mom, I’m missing you when you’re gone
