In a room full of people
I’m laughing and joking
Making friends, lifting the room
Outgoing, talking, shining
On the outside
On the inside
My soul stands on a cliff
Alone, bitter tears freeze
In the unrelenting winds
I know like everyone else
They would abandon me
When the winds push me over
No outstretched hand to save
Just bloodied finger tips
Clawing, grasping, reaching
To just stand alone
On the cold bitter cliff
The day draws nearer
I see the demon army approaching
To remind me what day it is
How cheap my life really is
That it is not worth it to
Claw, grasp or reach
Screaming, “Just let go”
So I sit there
Talking, outgoing, shining
On the outside
