Rest there now and be at peace

from this world find release

Why you left none can judge

they never felt the incessant nudge

it was more than the war that tore your soul

your decision was the sum of the whole

every time hope turned into a four letter word

and dreams flew from your hands as a bird

the sacrifices, deprivations and the pain

never turned into blessings falling down like rain

the discomfort in comfort none could understand

the uneasiness in ease like a clawing hand

the constant reminder that you didn't belong

out of harmony with societies unceasing song

praying and pleading for a sign to descend from the sky

You chose to ascend, face God and finally ask why

From this bitter illogical world now find release

Rest now softly and for once be at peace
