Leaves they fall now
and winter is coming I hear her calling.
Summer sun fades
and colder winds catch snowflakes falling.
All is still, all is cold,
and gone now from the precious dream.
Everyone has fled
escaped to where the stars still gleam.
I am left here
stricken by a thought of you and I
making love
beneath just such an autumn sky.
Leaves are dancing,
and I feel the pain which I have felt
so many times before.
The wound will not heal
I love you even more.
