Taking that last train out of here
stopped and had one last beer.
Got my ticket in this pocket.
Closed the front door but I didn't lock it.
I'm gone, it's all yours.

Left those dirty dishes in the sink.
Maybe that will make you think.
Your clean clothes are in the dryer.
Left the name of a maid you can hire
so she can do those little chores.

I got tired of being your main squeeze
and the stuff you get when you sneeze.
Got tired of waiting for things to change
so this one thing I decided to rearrange.
My train departs at noon.

I hear the whistle of that train
erasing you from my heart and brain.
Can't say our time together was fun
so now I'll go find my spot in the sun.
