Real monsters aren't quite what you imagine them to be.

Real monsters don’t look like how most of us imagine them to. They don’t have sharp, lethal fangs or glowing red eyes. Actually, plenty of them aren’t even hideous or “scary-looking”.

However, real monsters do behave a lot like they do in the tales. By this, I don’t mean they hide under your bed, roar at you, and eat you alive; not all of them at least. Nevertheless, monsters do, in fact, rob you of your innocence. These “creatures” can hurt you and give you terrifying nightmares. They can make you cry, scream, and be crippled with fear. They can slowly suck the life out of you, manipulate you, make you weak and unstable, and they can give you strange and painful scars that hurt forever; unless, of course, you treat them the same way you treat most scars, with a great amount of care. These monsters can haunt you without even being dead. Some of them can even kill you.

Now, usually we’d all try our best to avoid these monsters. Some are very easy to spot. Others, unfortunately, look and seem to be just like us. They might even be the person you thought of as an angel, you’ll only know if they are a monster if they choose to take off their mask of warmth and kindness.
