“I’m sorry its just not working!” It was around the fifth time Nina had looked at the text message, with tears streaming down her face. She finally took that deep breath and had the courage to reply with the words “Get lost!”

Throwing her phone in the draw she stood up, looked at herself in the mirror her brown eyes were now red from crying, her pale skin was all blotchy “Oh Nina when will you ever learn?” She sighed to herself.

Looking at her watch, it was 4:30 she better get a move on if she wanted to get to her parents for 530, thinking to herself another disappointment I bring to them.

Driving along the windy country road and very much deep in thought it was good few minutes before she realised it started snowing, Nina really hated snow. Next thing there was an almighty bang.

“Oh god someone trying to shoot me!” she cried. Nervously she pulled over and got out of the car. To her relief it was just a flat tire; then to her horror she realised she didn’t know how to change a tire  and she didn’t have her phone with her either, Starting to cry and getting back in the car, she thought“ I’m going to die here!”

Ten minutes had passed and not a single car had gone by. It was now pitch black “Well I guess there only one thing for it, I will have to walk it.”

Just as she was about to get out of the car, a black BMW pulled up behind her. The car door slowly opened a tall man stepped out and tapped on Nina’s window.

“Argh!” screamed Nina as she opened the car window.

“Sorry miss I didn’t mean to startle you, I can see you have a flat tire would you like me to change it for you?” Nina was too busy getting lost in his blue eyes to respond. “Miss shall I change your tire for you?” he said with a laugh.

“If you wouldn’t mind”? Nina replied shyly.

It seemed like a matter of minutes and the tire had been changed.

“There you go miss, “he said.

“Thank you very much,” replied Nina.

“Your most welcome er sorry I didn’t get your name.”

“It’s Nina.”

“I’m Giles, please take my card with any luck you will have a flat tire again. Maybe next Friday at the Charleston at 8pm you know it?” Giles asked with a glint in his eye.

“I do very well,” chuckled Nina.

“So what happened to this man?” Nina’s niece quizzed.

“He became your Uncle Giles eight years ago, married within three months,” her niece looked at her and said.

“Do you think I will ever find a decent guy?” Nina looked at the man that was changing her niece Zoe tire,

“Zoe your eighteen, there’s a modern day’s Mr Darcy for everyone.” Nudging Zoe and looking in the direction of the man changing the tire. The two girls burst out laughing.

“With any luck this little one will be too,” Nina thought smiling down at her bump.
