Why Some Birds Can Fly and Others Cannot

A long time ago, there was a little island in the middle of no where called Tashuss. It was occupied by colorful birds called Zukes. There were hundreds of there Zukes, but one leader: Zeus. He liked the way things were. He had control over the island and all the Zukes. He was a decent leader and was liked by almost everyone; therefore, he was able to get almost anything his heart desired. The only thing the Zukes didn’t like was that they couldn’t fly. Zeus didn’t mind it though. The Zukes tried for many years to fly, but gave up after failing so many times.

Well, one day, a woman came and said “My name is Ronda, the sky goddess. I can teach you to fly.” Excitedly, the Zukes gathered around to hear what Ronda had to say. All the Zukes that is, except Zeus. He was very angry. He like the idea one bit, because he didn’t want to Zukes to get the ability to fly, because he knew they would fly away and never return. He didn’t like the idea of them being free. The Zukes were the only people who ever made him feel good and made it so he wasn’t lonely, so he proposed that they fight against Ronda. Some agreed and others did not. Instead of them all just being granted the ability to fly and moving on with life, a war started and lasted a whole year.

By the end of the war, Ronda was furious with all the Zukes, even the ones who were on her side. She made it so all the Zukes that didn’t want to fly had the ability to fly and all the Zukes who wanted to fly were denied the ability; that way both sides were punished. Then Ronda vanished and never returned. That’s why some birds can fly and others cannot.
