What happensWhen your dreams are smashedSmashed into smithereensLittle tiny piecesThat you can’t put back togetherWhat happensWhen your hopes are put asidePut so far aside you can’t even find themYou get so low that you can’t even seeOthers are high on their pedestalWhat happensWhen someone breaks your heartThey tell you that you’re a freakYou feel stupid and crazyYou feel crazy becauseYou thought that just maybe they liked youWhat happensWhen a friend backstabs youThey dig that knife in so far you want to cryYou try to stop themActing nice, do something to themBut you just can’t do itI’ll tell you what happens each timeYou pick up the piecesFind your hopesPut back together your heartAnd you have to remove the knife
