Something I wrote describing my thought process, the duality of my nature, and maybe everyone's nature.

A heeding of a call
Plastic whispers wrap around me
Feeling weightless in the moment
A numbness spreads through
When I delve in such passions
A wandering ecstasy breaks
As I move to free myself from restraints

What is this freedom I feel?
When nothing seems to bother
The cold harmless touch
Of a call so endless and bright

To make the emotions count
Or to drown into a dark awareness
When I try to break free from the circling
And I remind myself of the headaches I cause
Not for a second do I remind to pause

From the shackles that constraint sensation
To remove my mind from such an elation
To burn the fire or retire
To ignite the candle or step away
From the shell that I create in my head
To where I must contemplate upon my bed
