Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…
The children are sleeping.
The father is away.
The mother is weeping.

The cold, falling snow,
Covers the land,
A beautiful blanket,
As white as sand.

Each breath becomes,
A timeless whenever.
Each tear frozen,
Captured forever.

Cold, hard, but empty,
Are the eyes of a mother,
A sister’s dreams are scarce,
When she lies with her brother.

Aware of a distant pain,
Comfort is all they know,
“Stay close, young brother,
There is nowhere to go.”

Two children stuck,
At a point in their lives,
When nothing matters;
And no hope survives.

The forgotten snow,
Kindly forgives,
The dark wrath of night,
Where the sorrow now lives.

New hope is summoned,
As day breaks the night,
The world sleepily clouded,
Hidden from the light.

A million tears and dreams,
Allow the clouds to wince,
The newly remembered daylight,
Brings a rainbow of white silence.
