I often wonder what it’s like
To be a bird soaring in flight
Looking down on silver streams
All alone with my dreams
Flying over mountains high
In the wondrous clear blue sky
Away from all my hurt and pain
That each day clouds my brain
Should my flapping wings grow tired
I could then the thermals ride
When my heart is beating too fast
I would remember the trees I passed
Slowly I would downward  glide
And quietly in the branches hide
Knowing that  I am totally free
From the nightmares haunting me
