Since the day I was born
I was taught to sit straight
To keep my mouth shut
And not question anything

And if I was a good girl
I would be rewarded with
Anything I ever wanted
Except liberty

Like a bird in a cage
Who has no wings to fly
And I never complained
And I never asked why

Now the shards of my memories
Are spread on an empty floor
Because I am stupid
I have nothing anymore

Nothing but a struggling wish
To throw away my hesitation
And to fulfill my desire
To fly high in the sky
Not with my broken wings
But with my broken mind
