We act like we are blind
While we watch our world unwind

We see children dieing in their sleep
Parents hold their hands and weep

Dry mouths quenched with a double edged sword
Their cries strike a sad sorrowful chord

Empty-handed with no assurance of life
constant evil sadness and strife

Our eyes divert from their heartwrentching lives
To appease our conscience we drop them fives

Toss them the crumbs from our tables
Keep treating this atrocity like a fable

Live your God-given American dreams
while others lives fall apart at the seams

We have an opportunity a chance  a moment
to color their world with atonement

We can give them Hope
