The seventh chapter

Shea walked home alone that day. She thought about Middle School. It wasn't that bad, after all. There was new potential friends behind every corner, but there were definite enemies too. Like Dylan Higgins, who made fun of Harper. When she was in the midst of thinking about this stuff, suddenly, Shea's eyes went out of focas. The green trees and blue sky disappears. A different kind of surrounding surrounded her. Shea saw herself, walking along the sidewalk, not paying attention, and tripping on a rock. Then, Shea's eyes slid back into focas.

\"Whoa! That was wierd!\" Shea said to herself. Then she tripped over a rock and fell on her butt. \"Ow! Who put that rock there?\" She exclaimed, rubbing her rear end. Then she realized what just happened, and how she saw it happened user a few seconds before. \"What the hell?\" She wondered. Did--Did Shea just see the future?

In fear, Shea ran rest of the way home. Shea's parents weren't home. Big surprise. Not.

Shea called Harper. It rang three times before Harper picked up.

\"Hello?\" Greeted Harper's voice. \"Hi, Harp.\" Shea was wondering how to tell Harper. \"Oh. Hi Shea.\" Harper sounded bored. \"Listen, something wierd just happened. Something happened--I don't know what, but I saw myself tripping over a rock. Then, I was in real life again, and I tripped over a rock.\" Shea braced herself for laughter, but none came. Instead, Harper's voice was a bit more serious. \"I believe it. Remember when that Higgins boy made fun of me?\" Shea nodded. \"Yeah.\" \"Well, remember after that you guys thought I went to the bathroom, and I came back really quickly wi out noticing?\" Harper sounded dead serious.

Shea didn't know what her friend was getting at, but she answered \"Yeah.\"

\"Well,\" Harper's voice sounded nervous, \"I wasn't at the bath room. I was there the whole time. I looked at myself, but I didn't see me sitting there.\"

\"Hold on a minute. Are you saying that you were INVISABLE?\" Shea beilieved it after what happened today.

\"That's exactly what I'm saying.\" Harper said.

For the two girls, only one thing was certain: something was going on.
