She gave away her talent, dwindled her soul away for nearly nothing.

She gives it away for free,

She likes the attention,

All for nothing,

But honorable mention,

Writing her soul away,

One word at a time,

Letting the hunger silence her,

When she has so much to give,

She writes her soul away because she wants to live,

She trades her talent for faded light,

But it always fades quickly,

Now she's back turning tricks in the night,

She smokes over her coffee,

In a poetic daze,

Writing her soul away,

She gives it away for free,

She likes the attention,

All for nothing,

But honorable mention,

The cycles never ending,

Her words never mending,

Thrown away for a look or two,

She's deeply talented,

Tried and true,

But she gives it away,

Night and day,

This time not for nothing,

She sold her soul once and for all,

She has nothing left to give,

Her words are empty,

I watched her empire fall,

Ashes to ashes,

Dust to dust,

She has nothing more to give,

Her body's corrupt,

Corrupt by the fear,

Corrupt by the drugs,

She picks her skin for invisible bugs,

Her beauty faded,

Her talent is gone,

She turns tricks for the devil,

Until the sign of dawn,

Then she hides away in her cage,

Smoking whats left,

Staring at the coldness of an empty page.
