Listen to the child that is so dear to wicked men

For she sings solitary songs from an open grave

In a world of one color

My dreams wander the withered fields

Where a nameless man stands

On a half finished bridge

A bird comes down the walk he says

The weeping bird

The skylarks tears

A healing spring

The sudden showers

That's the spring that we don't see

Follow the shallow footprints he says

For that is all that's left of a warriors dream

In the minds of strangers

A sick man passing

It's more than I ever want to see

Listen to the child he says

For she is the empty echo outside of the dream

Hope was here she calls

A nameless hill in the haze

Holding onto nothing

I wish I could remember

Who hope was
