Are you really alone when death comes for you, or do you find comfort in the strangest places...?

I actually wrote this one for a school project a long time ago, but I fell in love with it.

The light flickers softly in the young woman’s eyes,
Coming to a stop,
Then continuing on with its short life.
This is it, she’s through.
Her past matters not,
For it is done and gone.
She cannot change time that is already deceased.
The future is not to come,
It will take a detour from her life.
The slow ticking of the clock no longer chimes in her ears.
The present has come to a stand still.
Time is no more,
It has forsaken her,
Going forward,
Never ending.
Waiting to see what other tricks it may play.
Time looms forward,
It’s all up to it.
The candle flickers out.
The clock chimes.
It is done.
