bathsheba was a woman
with a figure, heavenly
and that can be quite dangerous
for mortal man to see

for it will cause their minds to boil
and bring on rage and wrath
king david cried, "she will be my bride"
when bathsheba took that bath

now david ran the kingdom
and had flings with whom he chose
and he got all excited
when he saw her with no clothes

he sent her husband off to war
which was a fatal path
but david said, "i require him dead"
when bathsheba took that bath

so david won his lady, fair
that he'd wanted on a whim
and kept her very close at hand
she took baths just for him

and from her womb came solomon
a lucky aftermath
and david knew what he had to do
when bathsheba took that bath
