go figure

they call it a drug
because it drug you down
beneath the surface
where the sun is fuzzy
along with the world
too many layers of clothing
smothered
harder to hurt
but harder to touch
the rose colored glasses
now the shade of bricks
a bug smashed
it's feelers now antennae
tuned into the radio of nothingness
death inevitable
but legs still squirming
the recreation now a career
your ambition now "am beaten"
you started off rolling down a hill
childlike and giggling
momentum took over
the snowball an avalanche
now you're sick dizzy
unable to stop
until the bottom
where its impossible to climb back
drugs were not invented by god
they were invented by man
to see god
or
to be god
but all you will see
is the reflection
of your own tortured soul
while satan smiles
its time to

stop
