eolian, our lives are formed
produced by ancient winds
in times of doubt
sometimes without
protection from our skins
.
sometimes the wind is warm and safe
at times, a frigid blow
that leaves a mark
severe and stark
like sastruga on snow
.
the wind combined with water
can make canyons, wide and grand
or lay to waste
a shoreline, chaste
till all that's left is sand
.
yet all of this erosion
is a necessary force
a cave is carved
a river, starved
until it changes course
.
this fallout is deposited
upon the world at large
when nature riles
it always smiles
before it makes its charge
.
we strive to be borne up
on silver wings to lift us high
but downdrafts loom
and causes doom
that swats us from the sky
.
eolian, our lives are shaped
eventually, they're stilled
but if you sift
and get the drift
good fortune, you will build
