monday's name is from the "mon"

an ethnic group from burma
perhaps you could go visit them
when in their terra firma

tuesday's name means merely "two"
the second of the seven
lest you count sunday as the first
in hopes of gaining heaven

wednesday's name's derived from "wed"
by that i'm talking marriage
but if you call it "hump day"
then we're talking baby carriage

thursday's name ? i am not thure
it's thomething that's unthertain
thurely, thomeone ought to thay
what lies behind the curtain

friday's name just means you fry
whatever suits your flavor
and after that comes sleeping in
which i will always savor

saturday just means you sat
in front of your big telly
perhaps while watching football games
while scratching at your belly

sunday's name is for the "son"
i guess you saw that coming
and after spending time in church
the next six days you're slumming
